Domo Enables Real-Time Collaboration for Analytics

Organizations are constantly trying to streamline and optimize business data to solve complex problems and identify opportunities to increase revenue and accelerate business growth. The data is usually stored in multiple systems with various data governance rules, which makes it complicated to democratize data and analytics within an organization. The most pressing concerns cited by participants in our Analytics and Data Benchmark Research include difficulty integrating with business processes, systems not flexible or adaptable to change and challenges accessing data sources.

Domo is a self-service business intelligence software company that offers data integration and visualization tools. The Domo platform enables business workers to perform queries in real time at scale. It offers more than 100 prebuilt business applications and over 1,000 ready-made and custom data connectors to enable self-service data exploration with minimal data engineer involvement. It also offers data consolidation support from multiple sources, including spreadsheets, Google Analytics and MongoDB, and can work with several databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, Amazon Athena and Google BigQuery.

Domo Business Cloud is a BI software platform that enables workers to accelerate critical processes dependent on business intelligence data. It offers several solutions, including data connection; data warehouse; extract, transform, load; data discovery; analytics; collaboration and data visualization. Domo was rated an Exemplary Vendor in our 2021 Analytics and Data Value Index.

Domo recently held its Domopalooza 2022 event where it introduced new products and enhancements to the platform. Updates include new functionality in Domo Multi-Cloud, a new Governance Toolkit and updates to Universal Data Modeling. It also announced Domo Data Apps, Domo Workflows, Microsoft add-ins and Teams integration. Data Apps is a set of low-code data tools that enable organizations to automate data and analytics processes, potentially decreasing the time from insight to action. Domo Workflows is a no-code tool that enables workers to integrate data, orchestrate user actions and automate business processes. Line-of-business workers can integrate data, users and logic across multiple business systems to create streamlined processes. It also offers the capability to write back to third-party systems, creating a two-way integration which has long been missing from BI software.

Collaborative decision-making enables organizations to ensure that the analytic processes result in actions that improve overall operations and better streamline processes. Our research also shows the importance of collaboration within organizations, where two-thirds (68%) of participants consider collaboration important or very important. We assert that through 2025, one-third of organizations will replace legacy business intelligence tools and establish analytic platforms that are collaborative, utilizing natural language as the method to inform and guide business professionals.

Domo’s chat tool – Buzz – is an integrated collaboration platform that is natively built into the Domo platform for real-time collaboration. Line-of-business workers can share data from any source, include any type of attachment, create team channels and assign projects and tasks, all within any conversation.

Organizations that have data stored in multiple systems and are looking to streamline data processes using cloud-based BI should consider Domo. It enables workers to generate data insights and actions, and helps organizations build team applications quickly. It offers the capability to integrate existing systems, BI and workflows into apps that enable organizations to improve operations and automate processes. It also offers machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, predictive analytics and other artificial intelligence technologies.
